I started Steps to Senior Care in 2015 to help people.
The idea originated when I was the director of an assisted living community in my town. I often met elders and their family members as they toured our community and searched for an ideal living situation.
I always wished I had the time to help them with their search. I knew the managers of almost all the other assisted living communities, nursing homes, and senior apartments. I thought it would be so nice if I could make some phone calls and help expedite the search. I also thought it would be nice if I could freely give my opinion about the various options!
A couple years later, I started talking to people about my idea, and the reaction was positive, encouraging, and enthusiastic.
Steps to Senior Care exists to help navigate the choices for Senior Living, to provide information about living options, and provide support for individuals and families as they help and support each other through change.
The most valuable thing I can offer you is my opinion (that is based on over 20 years of experience in senior living), my network of other people that work in senior living, and my personal journey in senior living as the daughter and family member of older adults that have recently journeyed through this process.
I do not receive referral fees from any senior living business, so I am able to recommend any community that seems like a good fit, and that meets criteria set forth by the family I am working with.
I invite you to explore this site, email me your questions, and let me know if I can help you as you help people you care about.
